McKinley, James B.


b. February 10, 1821, in Ross County, Ohio; d. October 23, 1903, in Champaign, Illinois. McKinley moved to Hennepin, Illinois, where he studied law and taught school. McKinley later moved to Petersburg, Illinois, where he finished his studies and was admitted to the bar. After practicing law in Clinton, Illinois, McKinley moved to Champaign where he practiced law from 1857 until 1860. He served as mayor of Champaign for one term and was also one of the organizers of the Champaign National Bank.
